Storm Fist Scouts and Drop Pod

Figured you all would like to see the scouts and drop pod that I painted for my Storm Fists.

Decided against giving them their "Fist" badge. They have to EARN it!

Drop pod for 3rd Company, 2nd squad... and here they are, deploying!

Storm Fists 5.0

The Storm Fists are a Space Marine Chapter that Ive been working on off and on for many years now. Originally they had a grey scheme, with a lot of honor markings... but frequent and repeated comparisons between them and the Space Wolves killed any desire I had to work on them. I eventually sold that army.

Since then, Ive tried resurrecting them from time to time. Usually just building up a color scheme, then deciding I didnt want to paint that. I think Ive even shared 1-2 of those here...

Well, last week I put brush to model, and came up with something I actually like. I also started thinking up some fluff, which I will share here, soon... The topper, though, is that I wrote a list. That turned it from a vague, doomed to failure idea, into something I can actually do. I hope.

So, the order I made as soon as I wrote the list arrived yesterday, which means Im working on a project again, and maybe Ill actually start blogging more! (Maybe).

Here is the test model I painted, slight changes are still possible...

What counts as a Space Marine?

So as I have mentioned here and elsewhere, Ive cut the number of armies I own down to the bone. By bone, I mean I have a lot of Cryx and a bit of Protectorate and Cygnar, a Tomb Kings army and some Chaos Warriors Im debating assembling, and several Imperial Space Marine armies.

Its the Space Marines I am concerned with today, for a couple of reasons. As of right now, the Chapters represented (by having 1 or more models) are Space Wolves, Black Templars (though I did just get rid of about 90% of them), Blood Angels, Grey Knights, Dark Angels, Imperial Fists, Marines Errant, and of course the Red Scorpions. My few Ultramarines and Silver Skulls have a new home, and I have someone VERY interested in my Marines Errant. That would leave one army for each "variant" codex, and two Codex chapters. But this is not my concern, just a warm up.

I was talking to the Wife earlier today, and mentioned that I was very tempted by the rumored Codex: Chaos Legions. She said that Id be breaking my rule, since they are not Space Marines. I argued that they are, just a bit more spiky. She argued back that just going by a different appearance didnt matter, Id be going against the spirit of my No New Armies rule... but if that were actually a concern for me, I wouldnt have started Grey Knights, would I? Grey Knights are even more different from a Codex chapter then Chaos at its best/worst...

Obviously, if I started Chaos again, they wouldnt fit into my Crusade army theme, but what does everyone think, do Chaos Space Marines count as Space Marines, or as "something else"?

Redesigning the Crusade

Earlier this week I was in the midst of a conundrum. I was thinking I didnt want to include the Blood Angels or Dark Angels, because I wanted to paint something different then what every other person using those codexes use. That and I dont want to paint more red then I have to. But I did still want those books in my Crusade. However, I decided that in order to not be painting a ton of black armored chapters (seriously, most of their successors are black!), I may as well leave them as is.

Last week I got my copy of the Grey Knights codex, and a box of power armored Grey Knights, with the intention of converting them into Librarians... Well, my Crusade has grown from seven Chapters to eight. I am not counting this as a new army, as Id already included every other Space Marine codex, no reason not to include this one, right?

The post title said redesigning, right? Guess Id better explain that. I had the entire Crusade set up to view earlier, and all the unfinished models were somewhat depressing and daunting. So, they got packed up and I was trying to forget them. Not a good idea when Ive cut down to three-four armies, right? So, in order to make it manageable, each Chapter has a starting point set up, and Ill add units as the entire Crusade gets painted. For now, each has 2 Troops and 1 HQ set up. Once the entire group is painted, Ill add an Elite, Fast Attack, or Heavy Support to each.

So, looking at my existing Crusade, Ill just go down the list on where they stand.

Dark Angels: Two 5-man Tactical Squads, and a Company Master.

Blood Angels: Currently, 5 Death Company, 5 Tactical Marines, and Lemartes. Need to add an HQ, unless I want to use him as a Reclusiarch.

Space Wolves: Currently, one Wolf Priest. Need to add a unit of Grey Hunters and Blood Claws.

Marines Errant: Right now, I have a Librarian, Scout Squad, and a Tactical Squad with Razorback. Think they are all painted, so they are waiting on everyone else to catch up.

Imperial Fists: Captain and two Tactical Squads. One is mostly painted, the other needs to be finished (very close, mostly basing).

Grey Knights: Currently I have a Brotherhood Champion and a 5-man Strike Squad. I want to add either another Strike Squad or a Terminator Squad for this stage.

Red Scorpions: Yeah, these guys are just sitting and waiting for the rest to catch up. Two Tactical Squads and a Captain.

Black Templars: I have an Emperor's Champion and a Chaplain. Need to add a pair of Crusader Squads. However, whispers on the grapevine are that this will be the next Imperial Marine codex, and I could see them putting out a better kit for them. Seriously tempted to let them wait for now.

The stage one goal is going to be two full sized Troops choices (just 10 for the Death Company) with transports, and an HQ choice. I have not decided if I want to take Command Squads for the Chapters that get Captains, but I am not ruling it out at the moment.

The ultimate goal is still a Battle Company (or equivalent) for each.

Looking for advice on my Crusade

Ok, as of right now, my "Crusade" consists of nine Chapters: the Ultramarines, the Silver Skulls, the Red Scorpions, the Imperial Fists, the Space Wolves, the Black Templars, the Blood Angels, the Dark Angels, and the Marines Errant.

In addition, I have two Chapters that I have models for, I just decided to not work on for this project: The Storm Fists, and the Gatecrashers.

However, Ive been thinking that I should thin the number of "active" Chapters that I am working on. Easy way of doing that is clearing the ones that duplicate the army book for another Chapter I play (mainly Codex: Space Marine armies). If I count Imperial Armor 9/10 as something special, that pulls the Red Scorpions and Marines Errant out of C:SM space, leaving just the Imperial Fists, Ultramarines, and Silver Skulls (and to be honest, the RS and ME were not going anywhere anyways). Well, two of those three only have 1-2 units, the remainder is one of my largest forces. The decision should be obvious, right?

What do other people think though? Should I work on nine Chapters, or seven? Should I box the Ultramarines and Silver Skulls, or try to build a company for them, just like I want to do for the other Chapters I am working on?

Resurgence of the Crusade

So, yeah, I apparently got bored, and snapped a few pics of my remaining Space Marine armies. Lets just move down the line, shall we?

First up, my Marines Errant. For a while, I was calling them the Angels of Purity, before I remembered/was reminded that there was a Chapter with this color scheme. I prefer this Chapter anyways, since they were involved in the Badab War, alongside the Red Scorpions.

The Imperial Fists. Working on these guys is why I have such high respect for anyone who actually completes yellow models.

My "other" Chapters. Dark Angels, Black Templars, Silver Skulls, Ultramarines, Blood Angels, and a single Space Wolf. Im not at the point to take a #Warmonger pledge to not buy any new models, but I do want to get them finished before I add much more, after the 30 Day Challenge, that is.

Speaking of, you will notice no pics of the Red Scorpions here. That was because I was too lazy to pull them out of the travel case after last weekends game. Ill get pics of them up, soon enough.

Return of the Storm Fists

So, when I was stationed in Hawaii, I brewed up a Space Marine chapter called the Storm Fists. Obviously an Imperial Fist successor, they had grey armor with black shoulder pad trim and red weapons. At the time I was also collecting Empire from WHFB, so I stuck on all sorts of spare sheathed swords as well. I liked them, and spent a good amount of time painting on individual details. But Im sure some of you have seen the problem with these guys already.

Codex Grey Space Marines are either Space Wolves, or just not interesting to look at. So, I moved on to the Imperial Fists and the rest of the horde.

BORING!

Fast forward a decade and change. Ive set my Red Scorpions aside, and set up the mass of assorted Space Marines up, trying to decide what to do with them. Out of one box that has been hidden for a few years, I find the old Storm Fists, and an idea forms. I want an army that has substantial heft to it, wears dark armor, and I wont have to spend too much money on... Why not repaint what I have? So, I am looking at alternate color schemes... Right now, this is my idea:

New and Sexy!

Obviously this idea is not set in stone, or Id be showing you painted models. One thing I am considering changing is making the shoulder trim grey, as a homage to the original grey. Another idea I had was blue helmets. But this scheme is a bit bolder then the original, and easier to paint. I am thinking the company colors will go on a kneepad, and the squad number on top of the unit badge.

Comments, suggestions, ideas?

Stuff on my mind.

Game against DT didnt happen this past weekend, he had something come up. So, we reskeded it for Wednesday. I still havnt made a list... Ive got time tonight, I might mess with that.

Seen the new Minotaurs on the GW site? Yeah... As they look in the studio pics, Im not impressed at all.... However, I do think they could look decent with a better paint scheme. More Beast and less Man. Maybe I will get some and paint them in cow print. ;)

Got my second order from the Warstore just before the weekend, and now I need to get around to assembling the models. All I ordered was enough to fill out some units I already have, next up is adding more 'Jacks and units... Mainly Helljacks, I think.

Remember when I said Id take about a week and be out of my Warmachine fixation? Yeah, its happening now. The new Beastmen are kinda tempting, but still not enough for me. Ill be picking up their book (along with the Tyranid one) when they come out. The new Blood Angels, however, are likely going to be started... They are already on my list of Space Marine Chapters, so I am allowed! ;)

I am starting to think about the background for each of the chapters involved. Some of them dont need much. The Red Scorpions have worked with the Marines Errant before. Everyone loves the Imperial Fists. Most respect the Ultramarines. The Dark Angels will help, whether they are wanted or not, and no one knows why. Some of the others though... Im thinking Ill be doing the Blood Angels 3rd Company. I like the idea and character of Tycho, just not his (current/previous) rules... So this will be the funeral progression of Tycho. His company is fighting their way back to Baal from Armageddon, to lay their commander at rest. Gives plenty of potential for paint jobs and conversions, I think. Space Wolves are most likely going to be a "Lost Company", one of the battle forces flung across the galaxy, who wouldnt make it back to the Fang. We will see.

Ill get right on that...

Well, Im right smack dab in the middle of being fixated on Warmachine... Normally Id say give me a week and Id be back to normal, only I dont have a week this time. Why? Because I have a game against DT on Saturday night.

1850, 40k. Space Marines vs Something. Im going to guess Tau, but Im not going to build specific towards them. He is using this as a practice game for a tournement, so Im not going to pull punches this time.

I am not going to include a list here, mainly because I havnt made one yet... But rest assured, its going to be a lot rougher then my usual stuff... Ive got the goodness of nine chapters to pull from! ;)

Grand Army of the Imperium

The Red Scorpions.

The Silver Skulls.

The Blood Angels.

The Space Wolves.

The Black Templars.

The Dark Angels.

The Imperial Fists.

The Marines Errant.

The Ultramarines.

Nine Space Marine Chapters, each proud defenders of the Imperium. Each one of these will be included in my 2010 40k project. I know, I know... the goal of this project was to cut down the number of different armies Im working on, not to include them all under one banner. Well, after discussing the idea with my brother, I decided to cut the whole project in half. Its just the Space Marines for now. The Inquisition and Imperial Guard elements are going to be shelved for now. I may add them back in later on this year, or maybe wait til next year. It all depends on how happy I am with the progress of the army as it goes.

With that done, that makes this a lot more manageable. Im still not going to make a specific plan for it all, but Ive been thinking that I want some kind of rough goal for each of the Chapters. So: Battle Forces or Task Forces. Each of these will get one of these descriptors.

A Battle Force will be capable of fighting nearly anything on their own (much like how the Red Scorpions prefer to fight), usually a battle company plus attachments from the 1st/10th and armory.

Task Forces will be smaller armies usually with a specific goal (a Dark Angels Master with a few squads plus some Ravenwing and Deathwing following rumors of a Fallen perhaps...). Probably a few squads from different companies. Sometimes even less.

So, which will be which?

Red Scorpions: Battle Force.
Silver Skulls: Task Force.
Blood Angels: Task Force.
Space Wolves: Task Force.
Black Templars: Task Force.
Dark Angels: Task Force.
Imperial Fists: Battle Force.
Marines Errant: Battle Force.
Ultramarines: Task Force.

Nice and easy to start off with. Those that are already larger armies get called Battle Forces, and those that are limited to just a few squads are called Task Forces. This does not preclude a Task Force from growing into a Battle Force if I decide to add more to them...

New Years 2010 Resolution Stuff

2010. Interesting number, huh? I get the feeling its going to be an interesting year as well. We will see.

So, yeah. My gaming resolutions. Ive already laid out what Im wanting to do with the ol blog, but Im not going to count them as resolutions, more as goals, so I wont ding myself if I dont hold to them. ;)

First off, actual gaming: I will try to have at least one game every two weeks, whether at the bunker, my place, or someone elses place... or even if I have to drive to the mall *shudder*.

Second up, painting, modeling, and army collection: Fantasy was going to be easy, Tomb Kings are coming up sometime this year, so I was just going to hold out for them... then I got to thinking that maybe I want to do this army or that... I still havnt decided. Whichever I choose, my goal with this army will be to have them tournament legal and ready just as quickly as finances allow. All the rest of my existing Fantasy armies are going into the box, until 2011.

For 40k, my plans are a lot more interesting. Ive mentioned that I have models from ten different Space Marine chapters on my table right now.... Yeah, you can see where this is going. "I shall build a grand army of the Imperium", to paraphrase my hero Senator Palpatine. At least ten different chapters, some Imperial Guard (Cadians, Catachan, Elysians, Kreig, Tallarn), those Grey Knights that have been in hiding for a few years, and maybe Ill pick up a few more Nuns with Guns. No specific goal as far as points or model counts or anything like that. I just want something extremely over the top. Plans are to get what I have painted first, then start adding whatever I decide I want to paint.

Warmachine/Hordes: I really do want to get back into this. Im unsure if Im going to continue with my Cryx or if I want to run a different faction... Both Cygnar and the Protectorate are appealing. Khador is not so much, they are too much sledgehammer, not enough finesse. I like my armies to be a little sneaky at least...

You find some, you lose some.

Finally got my painting desk assembled... finally. The "hobby room" is still something of a disaster zone still, though. Ive got just enough of a path to get to the desk, and sit down. However, that is just enough for right now!

After a long search, I found my box of Space Marines, and got them set up. I also found a box that contained my Storm Fists. That was the chapter Id created and was working on while I was at Osan, and right after I got back. I took them out to play a few times, but after people kept thinking I was playing Space Wolves, I decided to shelf them in favor of the Imperial Fists, and I lost track of them. Well, they are out and on the table again... and seriously looking dated. Metal scouts. Metal/plastic hybrid special and heavy weapon troops. Still, they are more codex legal then the Gatecrashers.

Speaking of the Gatecrashers, Im thinking they are going back into the box, not to see light again for a while. That leaves models from ten Space Marine Chapters sitting on my desk right now... Ive got all them set up right now, and I discovered something slightly disturbing. I have 21 Tactical Squads. 19 of them are full 10 men, and two of them are 5 man combat squads.... If I ever get an Apocalypse game, I know what army Im fielding! ;)

So, as the title of this post suggests, I lost something as well... Well, that would be the cup Ive been using to clean my brushes in for the past seven years or so. I found a replacement, but Im hoping to see the old cup again soon....

Now, since I managed to get everything lined up, that means I got some painting done, right? A bit. I got a single coat of bleached bone on some Deathwing Terminators. Im planning on tearing into them tomorrow morning. Once I get them all bone colored, Ill be washing them with a brown of some sort, then breaking out the drybrush... At least thats the plan.

Playing catch up...

So, Im kinda in a gaming funk right now. I know what I should be working on, and I even have a system to make it easier... I should be working on all my various Space Marines, and Im trying to work on 5 at a time, a combat squad from a different chapter each time. Ive got some Imperial Fists on the table right now, and they are giving me the "when are you gonna finish us" look.

I pulled out that High Elf Battalion thats been in my closet since it was released, discovered that the Silver Helms were assembled and had the metal done on them (I didnt remember doing that), and I partially assembled some Sea Guard. I had been hoping to finish the entire box over the weekend. I am going to aim at finishing that unit this week... Ive gotta clean up their off hand and glue it on, then prep and add bows and heads, then work up the command.

Ive been looking at the Warmachine stuff lately, kinda thinking about dusting them off again and trying to find where I stashed my copy of the MK2 rules, maybe challenging DT to a game once I actually read them. Then again, I might just keep them boxed until after I move and after the new stuff is on the shelves.

I had a wacky idea earlier about starting a new Top Ten, this time for WM/Hordes blogs. Of course Id need to do an online walkabout, try to find a larger chunk of blogs dedicated to that game. Im not going to start it yet, at the earliest it would be when Im back on a sane 8 hour shift, instead of the crazy 10-12s Im doing now. Slight possibility of waiting until the 40k one hits the 1 year mark. Maybe.

Something has been gaining in popularity lately thats annoying me. I use a reader to read all the posts that go on during the day. I almost always save them to read during work, with the exception of Tuesday mornings. Well, people have been setting their feeds to truncate messages. I understand why people do it, you actually want people to visit your site, and people who visit are far more likely to leave a reply... Well, Ive got a lot of stuff that I like to read (over 800 just from this weekend, not all 40k related obviously), and the blocker on my work line is pretty strict about anything it considers Gaming... Add in that the browser I use hates to allow me to reply anyways, and I see no reason to visit the site instead of the reader. Now, lets look forward to Tuesday morning, Ive got well over 500 40k related posts to look at, and Ive got to do this and somehow to sneak sleep, food, showers, and spending time with my wife into 11 hours. First thing that gets cut? You got it, posts that are truncated, unless they have a kickass title or first couple sentences. I hate to look at it that way, but at least until Im working a regular schedule again, thats that.

Deo has picked up the new Skaven book, Im hoping to get my copy after next pay day. I like the new models, but I havnt gotten the new army bug on them yet, which really surprises me. Might be because Ive not been paying as much attention to the rumors and models yet. It will prolly go into overdrive once the book is in hand...

Oh, I finally got rid of all my dwarf models. Getting a nice chunk of change from a buddy of Deo. A large part of the funds will be going in bills, but Im saving a nice chunk of it to restock my model collection. Not entirely sure what with yet, though.

Just a bit of stuff

Been almost two weeks since Ive had a real post, weird... Lets see, what have I been working on?

I picked up Bloodbowl for the PC, and Ive been having a blast with it. My computer is a bit slow, so Ive gotta play with the graphics turned down, but even then its amusing all around. :)

I finally got around to working on some of my Cadians. Pulled out a platoon of them, and got the green all finished over the weekend. Hopefully this week Ill get the skin, boots, and weapons done, then I can decide exactly how Ill be painting the shoulder pads.

Ive been considering working on Space Wolves for a long while now. Ive always liked their look and background, but always found something else Id rather work on at the time. Well, last week I was about to say screw it and start making plans to have some Wolves lined up for when the book hit... then I saw these. Hrm. Right now I think my plan is to pick up 3-4 boxes of the current Grey Hunters, and save the Space Wolf bits for when the new ones come out, cuz you can never have too many bits.... But its almost official that they will be my next new army. Kind of a perfect opposites match with my Red Scorpions.

Now I need to figure how Im going to make them different, and figure out of Im going to make a new Wolf Lord, or go with one of the special characters. Normally an easy answer, but Im actually considering building it around Ragnar Blackmane... We will see as more rumors pour out.

Its the journey, not the destination...

...or so its said about life. Same goes for this hobby of ours. After I did up all those army lists, I left my books at home last night, hardly thought about anything mini related at all... and today, you know what? A flash of inspiration and a desire to get something painted... not just anything, but...

*drumroll please!*

...My Red Scorpions. Funny how the new army bug leads me back to the army I was trying to avoid having dominate all my attention. Im actually tempted to pack up the Marines Errant and Imperial Fists for now, just concentrate on them. We will see...

Playing dead...

This weekend SUCKED. Almost chest wound bad... I took my first sick day from work in about a decade.

Obviously, I didnt get any gaming done. I also havnt gotten to doing up a "FTW timesavers post" (you will see more on that when Ron posts it). I spent most of the weekend either sleeping or trying to not cough my spleen out while playing WoW. I was mostly successful.

What I did do that was gaming related was pull out my WoC book and look at it for a while in conjunction with the WHFRP Tome of Corruption. I love that book's list of mutations, its always an interesting place to get mutant conversion ideas. One of these days Im gonna go roll up a completely random spawn and then build it... Eventually.

Over the past several weeks Ive been rereading the Horus Heresy series, and finished up Legion last Thursday. Ive got Battle for the Abyss next to me, and will be starting that soon. Ive noticed as I go through the series, I get the urge to work on Space Marines more and more. Of course, what chapter it is depends on what Im reading... It was World Eaters during the third book, Death Guard for the 4th, Noise Marines for Fulgrim, and lately Alpha Legion with Legion... Im wondering if Ill want to play Smurfs or Word Bearers with this one?

Having said that, I do have a bit of the new army bug. Thinking Ill be lining up a 500 point list of something to play with, not too sure what of though... Maybe Word Bearers. ;)

Weekend Fun

Had a short weekend, due to being on swings last week, but it was full of fun stuff.

Went to DT's place for a couple games, played against some Ogres for the first game. Shot them up until they got to my side, then my warrior unit and thane met the survivors and... got chased off the table. But it was ok, the last two survivors came back on and ate a load of grapeshot.

The second game was 1k of my Crusade vs another Space Marine army. He had a pair of ten man tac squads, a five man assault squad, a five man dev squad with missile launchers, and a chaplain led assault termy squad. My list was the Librarian, two tac squads, a scout squad, a dread and a standard termy squad.

He worked on slogging over with the units without heavy weapons, and deepstriked his termies in. I lit up the termies until one and the chaplain were left, then charged in with the dread. The Librarian and my termy squad used Gate of Infinity and popped around and lit stuff up. This was also the first time I used Outflank... why didnt I ever do this before? My scouts popped in on the side and got in with his Devastators... Im definitely going to be using this list a few more times.

After these two games I watched Mikie and DT play a game of Monsterpacalypse, that looked amusing, even if it did set off my "I hate pre-painted" alarm. I had to take off a little early cuz I was expecting to go to a BBQ... that was cancelled. >.<

More Numerators

Been poking at the Numerators idea some more, and I like the idea of making giving some of them robes. Not entirely sure of the color yet, but this works for now. Also had the idea of using Black Templar shoulder pads for every battle brother (since I have like a bajillion of those pads polluting my bits box! ;D), and paint them gold-ish. I was considering limiting them to a single armor version, but figured that would be a massive headache, instead Ill go the opposite and welcome as many different versions as possible.
I was trying to decide on a method of marking each squad, and had almost decided on a three digit number (001-100) on their knee, when I figured "Hey, if the squads are chosen randomly, why not members of those squads chosen randomly?" So, no actual squads, they fight together as dictated by the Numbers. Makes for a very chaotic layout... also means I dont have to keep units sorted out when packing them up.
As far as putting these guys together (if I ever win the lottery), I want to go all out on them. Resin bases, magnitized arms, actually taking my time to paint... ;) I think Ill bust out a 1k wish list...

Army idea - Numerators

I had an idea this morning of a new Space Marine chapter. On the tabletop they would play just like any other Space Marine army, its just fluff Im playing with here.
Chapter is called the Numerators, and they believe the entire galaxy can be broken down and controlled with the right sequence of numbers. Every fight they get into, they calculate odds and search for the hidden meanings behind every possible number encountered, from the number of orks killed, to the number of bullets that hit their tanks, to the amount of ammunition spent by the task force.
One of their defining features is their lack of a real chapter badge. Instead, every Space Marine has a unique four digit number assigned to them, that is stenciled onto their shoulder armor, and they keep that number for their entire life. When the marine dies, the number is recycled, unless it belonged to the Chapter Master, then that number is retired. Chapter banners bear the Chapter Number of 862.
The Chapter is laid out in a very different format then Codex chapters, and even non-Codex. They have all the usual ranks, 10 Captains each with an assigned Command Squad, and assorted chaplains, librarians, techmarines and what have you, but there are no companies. When the portents are in favor of combat, the Captain in command will select the troops he believes will be most useful for the situation. Despite not having companies, each Space Marine belongs to one of then "Lists", each List being tended to by a particular Chaplain and Apothecary. Each squad will assume the needed role and equipment right before combat, as the randomized numbers dictate.
=========================
If I get around to working on these guys, I plan to do them all magnitized. Ill prolly also not use the tac badges like I put up there... though Im not exactly sure what I would put. If anyone else wants to have at them, go for it! :)

One Thousand Points Of Fun!

I made a couple decisions last week, that I was going to stop playing a single chapter list, and that I NEED to get the models on my desk painted. Oddly enough, those posts I did last week removed all the desire I had to work on my Imperial Guard for now. So, I made a few self imposed rules for when I play a game...

#1: I am not allowed to run a mono-chapter SM list. This means I have to look to my full collection, rather then just my Red Scorpions. Easiest way to get the Crusade flavor across.

#2: If I run a model that is not FINISHED (tactical and chapter badges and all), my ENTIRE ARMY gets -1 Initive. This is the spur to get me to only use painted models. I considered LD, but ATSKNF made that nearly pointless.

So, with those in place, this is my new 1k list. Initials before the entry are the chapter they are from.

1k Crusade Force

(ME) Librarian w/Smite, Gate of Infinity
100

(IF) Tactical Squad (10) w/ Missile Launcher, Meltagun, Combimelta, Power Weapon
200

(RS) Tactical Squad (10) w/ Missile Launcher, Plasma Gun, Power Weapon, Meltabombs
195

(ME) Scouts Squad (8) w/ Power Fist, Heavy Bolter
149

(ME) Terminator Squad (5) w/ Assault Cannon, 1 Chainfist
235

(IF) Dreadnought w/ Assault Cannon
115

We are ganging up on DT's group this weekend... err, I mean joining them for fun! So, Im going to expand this to 1500 and 2k... Ill post those as soon as I figure them out... along with what got painted this weekend and what I did to the table lately...
