Pass and Review

I have always been afflicted by what I call "Hobby ADD". Anyone who has read this blog for more than a few months will likely be completely unsurprised. Tonight, I am playing around with a list of  armies I am currently working on, and some possibilities for the future... Figure I may as well go by system, that should keep things simpler to sort. Maybe.

30k
Death Guard - My primary 30k force, currently around 1700 points fully painted, and another 1300 or so waiting for my attention to swing back their way. Theme plan for them is that they are members of the 1st Great Company, and thus (mostly) loyal to Typhon, Mortarion, and Horus.

Night Lords - Still sitting at under 700 points, they started out as my 30k force, but were quickly knocked from that dark throne. I want to add a bit more, maybe move them to a full 1000 points, and use them as an allied force. Don't really have a theme for them currently, but as I write, Im getting an amusing idea to use them as Loyalists instead. I may toy with this idea...

Knight House Hodagi - Currently consists of a single Knight Errant, to be used as a Lord of War or an ally. Long term plans are to add a few more so I can play them as a Questoris Knight Crusade, or as Imperial Knights in 40k. Currently there are a few knights that don't cross over (Styrix, and the three new plastic variants), but I like them all, so Ill probably get what I like and pick the appropriate list to use what I want. Theme for this force is tied in with my ideas for Forge World Gersi, as their subject world.

Skitarii/AdMech/Mechanicum* -  My Skitarii are currently sitting at about 1000 points, with just the Onager painted (though I did work on the Vanguard earlier today!). Plan is to continue work on the Battle Maniple formation, an easy list to work with. In the longer term, I want to add models from the assorted 30k Mechanicum lists, to represent all the resources that my home-grown Forge World has available. Theme for them is that Mortarion stumbled upon and saved their world early on, and they have been supporting his interests during his part of the Great Crusade, and followed him into heresy.

*technically the Skitarii and other Adeptus Mechanicus book(s) are 40k, not 30k, however local opinion is to count them as Mechanicum until we hear otherwise.
 
Chaos Daemons (Nurgle) - Actually a bit of a placeholder, as the only model I currently have is a single Daemon Herald, with a box of Plaguebearers in the mail. Plan is use them as summoning filler for the Occult Binder (Librarian) I am converting for the Death Guard, though if things work out, I might expand into a full army. Theme here is that Mortarion is teaching some few former Librarians in the arts of binding, banishing, and controlling "witchery". Of course, who do they gravitate towards binding? You got it.

40k
Storm Fists - Im sorta losing interest in these guys at the moment. Roughly 2000 points, all painted except a unit of bikers. I have a few other boxes of Space Marines as well, but they are on hold, in case I decide to do a Chapter hop.

Dark Angels and other assorted Space Marines - In addition to the above, Ive got a few units and/or characters from the Dark Angels, Space Wolves, Minotaurs, Black Templars, and Blood Angels. Keeping them handy to use as allies, but only the first is reasonably fleshed out to play solo. Possible I will pick one of these as my next 40k army, but then maybe not. 

Red Scorpions - These guys got boxed up, and on the Forgotten Shelf, but they are still around. A full battle company, minus four rhinos. Biggest thing keeping me from doing anything with them? The yellow/brown I used for their trim is out of production, and the closest variant is still too bright. Havnt been able to mix it properly.

Chaos Marines - Ive got a bit of a collection together right now, almost all in grey plastic. I was inspired by the Crimson Slaughter, but then I got distracted and moved on. As usual. As of right now, they are somewhere between getting hauled out to the shed, and being saved for whenever Nurgle Daemonkin get done.

Necrons - Another bit of a placeholder. Currently I have two boxes of Tomb Blades, as a start to a Reclamation Legion. Might migrate from Space Marines for a while. Or maybe not.

WHFB
Warhammer is in limbo right now, really. We dont really know what is going on, what will change, what is still viable. So, no plans to work on until I hear otherwise from the horse's mouth.
Skaven - Currently I have a fully painted Island of Blood set of Skaven, and a few other units I need to finish painting, or just need to build.

Ogre  Kingdoms - Ogres are sitting at 2000 points, mostly half painted. I can (and have recently) play them, but they are mainly a filler army for when I don't or cant play something else.

Undead Legion - About 2/3s of my legion is built, about 4-5000 points all told. Nothing is painted. Nothing is even primed. Bleh.

Chaos Warriors (Nurgle) - A leftover from the Great Purge, maybe a thousand points of half painted, or unassembled Warriors. I like the idea of a Nurgle force, I just get really bored with these guys. Since Glottkin was released, Ive pulled these guys out a dozen times. Ill look at the models, or make a list, or whatever... then box them up and put them back up. Eventually Ill admit defeat.

Warmachine/Hordes
Circle Orboros - In theory my prime faction. Ive managed to collect all the models I need to make a 35 point tier 4 theme force list for every Warlock in the faction, minus Bradigus. And for that, I just need the dude himself. Problem is I bit off more that I could chew. Half the models are unopened, and maybe three of the lists are fully painted. Someday Ill knock them out. Hopefully.

Farrow - Another example of biting off more than I could chew. I ordered tier 4 for all the Warlocks, thinking "Hey, there are only a few of them, and they all share everything anyways!". Now, I still think this one is doable, if I get my ass in gear. Just a few units and beasts and Id be done. It is just a matter of looking at that box, and seeing it all.

Cygnar -This is where I have started to learn my lesson. I ordered a single theme force. Commander Stryker and his goons. I did pick up a few other models, but they are not on the radar yet. As far as I am currently concerned, Stryker1, Ol' Rowdy, 2 Lancers, and 2 units of Long Gunners are all I need to work on. Once they are dealt with, then Ill allow myself to realize I have that 35 point "All-in-One" to work on still.

Other Games
Deadzone - From what I hear, this still gets played locally from time to time, I just happen to miss out on it. My force is assembled, and one day might get painted.

Malifaux - Bit of a dead duck for me. I know some locals play it, but the locals I play with do not. I have the Seamus crew (mostly) assembled, but no feel for them.

Table - Not a game, but needed for them all. Ive got the Realm of Battle set-up, that I need to paint one of these days. Going to be a quick deal, mostly brown spray and drybrush, with some grey and bone for rocks and skulls. Also got terrain I need to sort out.

2013 in review

Its about that time again, isnt it?

2013 was an "interesting" year in my house. Up through August, I was expecting '13 to go down as one of my worst years yet (still wont win any awards), with car issues and the financial difficulties that often come with those.

And then, September happened. Wife and I said "No more back-lot deals!" and got something "new-ish". With a warranty. We have a car payment, but its still cheaper than the amount we were socking away to pay for repairs. And then, the VA FINALLY settled the wife's disability (only been fighting for 5 years), and we suddenly had disposable income... which means I suddenly had a proper hobby fund again.

So, enough of that, what happened with the hobby over the year? Well, I finished off all my Red Scorpions. Ive since picked up a few models to expand the Honor Guard, but they are sorta gathering dust at this point.

I started a Nurgle Chaos Marine "Black Crusade", but kinda lost interest, and they are boxed away.

Ive got a decent start on a Dark Angels force, that might be used as allies for other 40k armies.

I finished painting my Cryx, and sold them off. Decided I needed to clear them out and remove the distraction.

I have barely done any work on my Circle Orboros collection, though I did pick up a WoldWrath.

I started a Convergence of Cyriss force, currently I need to paint "blue glow" on half the models to finish them, and then paint Aurora.

I started a Skaven force, started with the IoB models, but added a Battalion box and some Stormvermin. The IoB models are done. The Stormvermin are about 30%, and the battalion is still unassembled...

I finally joined in on the Horus Heresy craze, and have a few squads of Night Lords in the works. These are going a lot slower than Id like, as they are a bit more expensive, and few of the locals seem overly interested in 30k gaming.

With winding down on the Red Scorpions, I decided to work on another Space Marine chapter. I put together a squad and Captain from the Minotaurs, but decided they were not quite what I was looking for. So, I dusted off an old favorite of mine, and redesigned the Storm Fists.

Done at last, or more accurately, done for now!

The brain is a funny thing. A few weeks ago, I decided it was time to sell the Red Scorpions, and a few other armies I have. A buyer was lined up, terms were agreed to... then life punched him in the gut and took his lunch money. Sucks, but it happens.

So, what did I do? Did I go looking for a new buyer? Nope. I finished painting the last nine unfinished models in this army. And now I am considering finishing the full battle company. Five Assault Marines, and four Rhinos is all that I need. And beyond that? Who knows... but I suspect an order for more resin shoulder pads and bits is in my future.

2012 in review, 2013 in the headlights

Been a quiet year on the ol' blog, huh? Posted some pictures, talked about my armies, and even posted a bit of (crappy) fanfic. The table was a bit more active though. Ill go through by system, hopefully I wont miss anything...

Oh, and before we get started, you do know my TwitPic folder has a LOT more pics then what I post here on the blog, right?

40k: This year was primarily the year of the Tyranid, I managed to collect and paint a 1500 point army. I also continued work on my Red Scorpions, they are down to a single Assault Squad, and a few Rhino/backs until the company is complete. Ive been working on those Dark Vengeance Dark Angels and Chaos Marines as well, but they are not nearly close to being prepared for anything.

Ive also bounced some half-assed projects around: some Dark Eldar, Space Wolves, and maybe that Dark Angels and Chaos Horde project from a while back, havnt really decided on that yet. There were also a TON of projects that never had models purchased for them.

WHFB: Fantasy didnt get nearly as much love. I did some work on my Ogres, but not as much as I could/should have. I also dusted off my Warriors of Chaos box, and did a bit more with them, but nothing too exciting.

This year, I did not start any new WHFB armies. Im starting to think Im moving on from this game, or maybe there was nothing that really grabbed my attention...

WM/H: More work was done here, this year. My Circle Orboros project was started and continues unabated. The collection is about half painted at this point, and I only need to buy a few more things to finish. On the Warmachine side, my Cryx are nearly all painted, only Rengrave and a Warwitch Siren remain. Im not entirely sure what my goal with this faction is. I might try to go "all the theme forces" like the Circle.

As far as other games... I didnt start any. I looked at Malifaux, but none of the factions jumped out at me, saying I had to start them. Same for Infinity. Dust Tactics and Dystopian Legions are interesting, but break my "No Alt History Games" rule.

Think that is about it for this year... Going to try to hammer out ideas for 2013, for my next post.

Weekly Hobby Update Thing #21

Last update of the year! Though, I bet for many people, this will be the first they read of the year. ;)

My Ogres had no improvement all week. They only got set up on the shelf overlooking my desk. (Guilting me, they are.)

On the other hand, my Red Scorpions actually got some love, for once. The combat squad of Devastators that had been sitting got mostly finished. Mostly meaning they need squad, company, and campaign badges, and basing. Not too bad, just need to break out the Skull White paint!

Lastly, I did a bit of work on Baldur. A bit meaning that I need to do his face and base, and he should be done. I also made an order, and he will have a 35 point "sticks and stones" list set up very soon...

Weekly Update Thingie #11

Didnt get as much painting done over the vacation week as Id hoped, but I am going to blame being sick for that! :P

All of the 30-something Red Scorpions have gotten their first coat of yellow trim done, gonna do touch-ups, then move on to the black.

Cryx.... got nothing.

The rest of my WarmaHordes factions... got nothing.

Secret Project unit #1 is assembled and based, and awaiting my going out and priming them.

Oh, did I forget to mention I have a Secret Project army? It is WHFB, but after the fiasco with the Nurgle Warriors, I decided to keep the identity to myself until I decided for sure this is an army I want to work on, which means two units and a character fully painted.

Weekly Hobby Update Thing #10

Woo, ten of these so far, yay!

This week was more active then last week, but then Id have to be in a coma to do less then last week.

I assembled all my models from the 2-Player Battle Box, and managed to get the Protectorate models primed. The Khador models are still sitting in their bare plastic. Both sets are now on the book shelf, awaiting my finishing up with Cryx.

As far as the desk, and the shelf overlooking it? Cleaned. The Red Scorpions are in their carry case. The Grey Knights and all other models are boxed and in the storage room. Trying to limit myself to a single army on the table for now.

My Cryx have received a new carry case (Sabol, for those interested), and all the completed models are packed away. The unfinished, however, are in line for a paint job. I also picked out a few that I need to fix up somehow... and knocked the Bile Thralls out already. Since all they needed was a bit of gloss varnish on the slime from their guns, it was an easy job. That just leaves 16 models to go. Most just need to be finished, but there are a few that are sitting in their primer (Rengrave!).

So, what about my plan for next week, and my Red Scorpions? Dunno, we will see how long til I get bored again! ;)

Vacation plans

So, I am taking another week of vacation, starting next week. Only this time, I am not going anywhere!

I have decided I want to do something productive during this time, so I took a quick look at my projects, and quickly found one I could finish over the week... My Red Scorpions!

Every model is painted up to the basic grey that I use, so it is all yellows, boltguns, and details that remain. The number of models that need this treatment? 34: 20 tactical marines, 5 devastators, 5 command squad, and 4 honor guard. That is just 7 models a day! If I do some work before then, I could cut that daily number even further down.

My hope is that once these are finished, Ill finally pick up that last assault squad and 4 razorback kits I need to finish my 5th Company. Once I finish those additions, I can move onto the fun stuff!

Now, lets hope I can stick with this plan!

Weekly Hobby Update Thing #9

This week was a joke, as far as painting goes...

I assembled the Warwitch Siren I picked up last Tuesday, no painting done on Cryx models.

I think Ive decided on an alternate color scheme I will be using on my Protectorate models. They will kinda look like the Black Templars, which I think fits. No brush was dipped in paint to help these models, however...

I cased up my Red Scorpions, to make room on the shelf for WarmaHordes models. I am half thinking they are going to be retired for a while, and Ill work on a different Chapter. Maybe.

Lastly, I come to the Chaos Warriors... "Surely you painted something for these guys?" Nope. Far from, in fact. I decided I like the idea of Nurgle Chaos Warriors, but I have no desire to actually work on them for now. They are getting stuck in storage until I decide I want to work on them or sell them. Of course, this leaves me with no Warhammer Fantasy army once again.

Weekly Hobby Update #5

Another week, another couple models worked on.

Cryx got a bit of love. All of the "fleshy dead" models got a few layers of rotting flesh, and then washed with green ink. Ill be adding other color ink washes to them sooner or later. The Withershadow Combine got a bit more work, got the brown and grey started.

I primed the 15 Red Scorpions that had been sitting on the shelf in their bare plastic. Then I gave them the basic grey brushdown. Next up for them is a wash of chaos black.

Lastly, I did the metal work for my Grey Knights. My entire force except the Librarian, Captain, and Stormraven is sitting at this stage. Those three have gotten their first coat of Boltgun Metal, and are awaiting the black wash, like the Red Scorpions.

Next up, Ill probably do a quick drybrush of chainmail, then move on to details.

Thursday morning I finally assembled my Khador box set, and during the evening I got most of the Skorne set put together. Planning on getting them finished this morning, leaving just the Circle box to finish, and I hope to get them done this weekend. Finally.

On a side note, I am loving my new camera. ;)

Weekend gaming

So, I actually got some gaming done this weekend!

Friday night, I took my Red Scorpions to the new Bowie Battle Bunker... and to be honest, it was very quiet, nearly dead. I jokingly asked if they were open... I still managed to get a game in against Chris, one of the employees there. Great guy, and a fun game. 1500 points of Scorpions vs Imperial Fists. We played a standard "set them up and knock them down" game, at the end it was roughly tied on who killed more.

Saturday, I went in and played against Deo, possibly our second to last game before he moves. 1300 points of Red Scorpions against Dark Eldar. It was busier during the day, but there were still open tables. We played a "capture the opponent's objective" game. We figured that since he has had the chili so long, he must now be after our toilet paper. I mentioned that we are 12, right? This one turned into a draw, as I just sat back and let him come towards me. In the end I had to kick his Archon off my objective, but I sent the dirty xenos back to where they came from, without that two-ply.

While at the bunker on Saturday, I got my copy of The First Heretic signed by the author, my first time getting something like that signed. Pretty cool, and a nice guy! I also got my first Finecast, a unit of Sternguard Veterans. Pretty nifty, aside from the VSgt missing his thumb on the powerfist (easily replaced!)

Using objectives to make memorable games

So, when Deo and I play, I usually whip out a small pile of drum-style barrels to use as objectives. They are quick, easy, and simple to spot on the table. Over time, we have made the joke that they are full of Red Scorpion brand chili. Of course, this brings on a load of jokes regarding bodily functions. Yes, we are 12 years old, what did you expect?

Anyways. Its gotten to the point that every battle is "For the Chili!", and there is a bit of story over it all now.

Last time I drove out there, I forgot the barrels. They were in the case with my Red Scorpions, and I took my Grey Knights instead. So, do you know what we did? Deo scattered a few giant rats about, and we called them the Chili. This battle was the Grey Knights trying to take or destroy the chili before the foul xenos could use it to inflict even more suffering on the universe. They failed.

Deo is considering moving even further north fairly soon, and I think I need to try to win the chili back from the Dark Eldar before he leaves, lest he taint New England with that Red Scorpion brand chili goodness.

(Oh, and I think I am gonna repaint the barrels to actually look like chili cans)

Doing strange things for all the right reasons.

Back when I started my Red Scorpion army, I decided I wanted to do something different with them. You know, aside from the paint scheme, Forge World resin shoulder pads, and work I put into the bases.

But, what do you do special with a Space Marine Chapter who's only differentiated from the rest for their fanatical adherence to the Codex, and their devotion to a pure geneseed? You emphasize one of those aspects. But, how do you emphasize either of those (without resorting to FW rules)? The Ultramarines are already the epitome of the Codex chapter, not much I could do that would look any different then the boys in blue.

So, geneseed purity was my target. First answer was easy. Nothing says "this marine is pure" like purity seals! So, each of the Red Scorpions get at least one, and likely more. My second decision is a bit more subtle. If the Chapter wants to maintain their purity, what is the best way to do so? That is right, isolate themselves from contaminants. Best way to do that? Keeping their helmets on! Every model in my Red Scorpions army has their helmet on. It is something no one notices, unless they actually go looking for it. And if they do notice, its likely they assume I do it because I hate the bare heads (not true! I have no problem with bare heads, it looks dramatic!).

Of course, this does lead to the occasional headache. Metal models for example. How many Librarians in the current range have a helmet on? Thats right, none of them. I had to find one of the older range models to fill that slot. Im just grateful Sevrin Loth had his helmet sculpted on. Half the Chaplains are also bare headed, so I have limited choice on those. The plastic Commander kit was lucky for me, and I am very happy that all versions of Carab Culln have separate heads/helmets.

Of course, the question comes up: "Why not use the Forge World rules, give your squads Apothecaries?" Several reasons. First, I dont want to have to take Culln in every army. Second, that is a lot of money I would have to throw to get the bits or metal models for each Tactical Squad. Third, how many people have you started a pick-up game with would allow Forge World rules? People get antsy when I tell them I use FW shoulder pads....

Current Projects.

Lets see, I think the last time I posted about my projects, I was working on the minimum FOC requirements for each of the Chapters in my Crusade. Of course, this being me, such a plan couldnt last that long.

So, what is the current plan? Red Scorpions and Grey Knights.

My Red Scorpions 5th Company are sitting at 50 completed models, 30 half painted models, and 15 unassembled models. Which means I need 10 models (plus 3 rhino-backs, and 1 dreadnought) to finish my battle company. One biker squad should do it. I just need to get some more Red Scorpion bits from Forge World before diving back into assembly mode.

My Grey Knights had their list published earlier this week, so I wont repeat it. However, the plan for them will end up looking like 4 Terminator Squads, 2 Strike Squads, 1 Interceptor Squad, and 3 Purgation squads. Plus other stuff. I would like to finish the Red Scorpions first, we will see how that works out...

Redesigning the Crusade

Earlier this week I was in the midst of a conundrum. I was thinking I didnt want to include the Blood Angels or Dark Angels, because I wanted to paint something different then what every other person using those codexes use. That and I dont want to paint more red then I have to. But I did still want those books in my Crusade. However, I decided that in order to not be painting a ton of black armored chapters (seriously, most of their successors are black!), I may as well leave them as is.

Last week I got my copy of the Grey Knights codex, and a box of power armored Grey Knights, with the intention of converting them into Librarians... Well, my Crusade has grown from seven Chapters to eight. I am not counting this as a new army, as Id already included every other Space Marine codex, no reason not to include this one, right?

The post title said redesigning, right? Guess Id better explain that. I had the entire Crusade set up to view earlier, and all the unfinished models were somewhat depressing and daunting. So, they got packed up and I was trying to forget them. Not a good idea when Ive cut down to three-four armies, right? So, in order to make it manageable, each Chapter has a starting point set up, and Ill add units as the entire Crusade gets painted. For now, each has 2 Troops and 1 HQ set up. Once the entire group is painted, Ill add an Elite, Fast Attack, or Heavy Support to each.

So, looking at my existing Crusade, Ill just go down the list on where they stand.

Dark Angels: Two 5-man Tactical Squads, and a Company Master.

Blood Angels: Currently, 5 Death Company, 5 Tactical Marines, and Lemartes. Need to add an HQ, unless I want to use him as a Reclusiarch.

Space Wolves: Currently, one Wolf Priest. Need to add a unit of Grey Hunters and Blood Claws.

Marines Errant: Right now, I have a Librarian, Scout Squad, and a Tactical Squad with Razorback. Think they are all painted, so they are waiting on everyone else to catch up.

Imperial Fists: Captain and two Tactical Squads. One is mostly painted, the other needs to be finished (very close, mostly basing).

Grey Knights: Currently I have a Brotherhood Champion and a 5-man Strike Squad. I want to add either another Strike Squad or a Terminator Squad for this stage.

Red Scorpions: Yeah, these guys are just sitting and waiting for the rest to catch up. Two Tactical Squads and a Captain.

Black Templars: I have an Emperor's Champion and a Chaplain. Need to add a pair of Crusader Squads. However, whispers on the grapevine are that this will be the next Imperial Marine codex, and I could see them putting out a better kit for them. Seriously tempted to let them wait for now.

The stage one goal is going to be two full sized Troops choices (just 10 for the Death Company) with transports, and an HQ choice. I have not decided if I want to take Command Squads for the Chapters that get Captains, but I am not ruling it out at the moment.

The ultimate goal is still a Battle Company (or equivalent) for each.

Red Scorpion Pics... Finally.

I finally got around to taking some pictures of my Red Scorpions... But I dont think I got them all in these two pictures, and I am too lazy right now to take another!

Obviously I didnt get the vehicles in these pics, but I am not worrying about that for now, three of them still need paint!

In addition, here is the current view of my 30 Day Challenge models. Gotta add 16 sets of arms and bolters, then I can move on to helmets, shoulder pads, backpacks, and other details!

Thirty Day Challenge, Clash of the Ryans!

For the past few days, We have been setting up something fun. Fellow blogger and tweeter/Warmonger Ryan (@RTGamer) and I have decided to run a 30 Day Challenge!

The contest is this: Assemble and paint to the usual army standard 25 models, in 30 days.

The Winner get gloating rights, the loser must change the color of their blog to pink for two weeks. Yes, this means the Top Ten would be on a pink background. I had better not lose!

He is painting some Menoth troops and some other stuff. I am painting Red Scorpion Space Marines. Two 10-man tactical squads and a 5-man devastator squad to be exact.

At first, it seems unfair. Red Scorpions are simple to paint, especially the way I do them... However, we agreed that this is countered by the fact that space marines are a lot more involved during the assembly stage.

There is one other hiccup to deal with. I dont have enough Red Scorpion Chapter shoulder pads for all 25 models! So, Ryan graciously agreed to allow me to skip that on a few of them. Ill just paint the pads and glue them on after I get some more. I think I will be using up every single RS resin trooper bit I have during this event!

Gaming done!

Yesterday I drove up to play a few games with Deo and his group of friends. Its about an hour out from where I live, so its obviously something I dont do very often (last time being when WH8th Ed came out!).

So, I played three games... Ok, two and a half. First game was against Deo, Red Scorpions against Dark Eldar, 1,000 points. I took:

As people who have been reading my blog for a long time know, I suck at battle reports, so Ill just share my lessons learned:

Deep Striking Assault Squads is still idiotic.

A Las/twinPlas Razorback should not be sitting in the back, on an objective, when trying to gun down DE skimmers.

Keep your eye on the mission, no matter what.

Basically what happened was the Las-2Plas Razorback and crew stayed on the objective in my zone, and the other two razorbacks went running to his objective. The Assault squad tried to be heroes and jumped into the middle of the field, just to get munched. In the end, I had a pair of empty razorbacks contesting the objectives, everything else of mine was dead. DRAW!

Game 2 was cut short by Deo having to go to work. My Cryx against borrowed Circle Oroboros. Quick and easy, only had enough time to get a few things into combat, but I could tell that I wasnt going to do well, I only had bonejacks.

Game 3 was against a gentleman named Chris. 35 points of Cryx against Skorne. I dont remember what he took, but my list was:

pGaspy

2 Deathrippers

1 Defiler

Cankerworm

1 Seether

Deathjack

Skarlock Thrall

Lessons:

Dont spread out so much, even if you are trying to contest objectives, especially with a low model count force.

Infantry works, use it.

Use your debuff spells, dummy.

Infantry can and will beat down your bonejacks, eventually.

Hellfire is a fun spell.

There were some fun things in this game. Deathjack getting into a beating match with this spiky thing, only for Gaspy to walk over and stick it full of holes (Sustained Attack FTW!) In the end, I was getting tired, and I got a bit reckless with Gaspy, and he got killed. Still, a fun game.

Aside from this, there was some wheeling and dealing going on, and I got rid of a significant number of armies. Ill save that for a later post, probably Wednesday. ;)

Update...

"So, Ryan, what have you been up to?" Uhh... Ive finished Sevrin Loth, Carab Culn, and a Seether Helljack. Right now I am experimenting with washes on Cankerworm's base, and working myself up to finishing this Command Squad.

"Got any pics?" Nope, I am a slacker, as usual. But I might have some this weekend. Maybe.

"Get any games in?" *hangs head in shame* Nope.

"What has been taking your time up?" Oddly enough, chatting with fine folks on Twitter. Working more then is healthy for me. Very little WoW time really.

"Any ideas for what is next?" I was looking at Night Goblins earlier, but I still think Tomb Kings are my next army, if I can keep the Skaven hordes out of my sock drawer.
