Forge World is stealing my wallet.

So, with my love of all things Red Scorpion, it is likely no surprise that Im going into joyful fits over the pics from Games Day, huh? The Wife is likely very sick of hearing me gush about them... So, a bit of stuff as I think about it.

First, went and saw the doc about my shoulder and ankle... and the result is physical therapy, no surgery. Whew. Depending on when and how long, it may delay the Top Ten from time to time, but not nearly as bad as losing a week or more due to being screwed up even more then now.

So, everyone has seen that librarian and Honor Guard, right? Im curious about that. Were they just displayed together, or is that a special librarian who gets an Honor Guard? Well, obviously he is a special librarian, but you know what I mean. If they are not his Honor Guard, then they belong to the Chapter Master... and we havnt seen him yet. Looking at the Lexicanium, Verant Ortys was Chapter Master around the siege of Vrakks, and the new stuff is from Badab, roughly 76 years later. Plenty of time for Culln to become the new Chapter Master... Since Forge World seems to like showing him in various stages of his career, this would not surprise me.

So, it looks like I am being dragged back to my Red Scorpion project, not quite kicking and screaming. The question is what is the project now? Finish the 5th Battle Company, obviously, but what else? Some extras, like veterans and tanks and stuff like that. I am slightly tempted to resurrect that Space Marine Chapter idea I was looking at with the Blood Angels... But only slightly. Yeah, slightly.... Am I fooling anyone?

Ive been trying to figure out how I was going to work the new spiffy armor sets in, but up until tonight the best Id come up with was "randomly mix a few in with squads as I build them". While I may do that as well, I want to do something special with them. So, I think Ill mix the older marks (2-5) and use them for my Veteran and Command squads. For the regular marines, Ill scatter random parts among the various squads... A helmet here, legs there...

Cool ideas. I am probably going to have to wait till book 2 but here is hoping we get some Howling Griffons characters and shoulder pads.

Now BL need to write some novels.

Having not seen a ToC yet, I would venture to guess that the Howling Griffons would be one of the first supported chapters. There has been a good number of HG armies around, and they have a very striking color scheme. A little bit of fluff has been in the books for them too, as I recall...

Congrats on not needing to go under the knife.

Not that I have touched my 40k stuff in MONTHS, but I believe your Red Scorpions owe me a rematch.

DT: Thanks, I just hope the phys therapy helps with standing through a full game.

I dunno about my Red Scorpions owing you, but I need some payback for the embarrassment from last time we played. ;)

It was a little cruel of me given that you hadn't really played much Warmachine Mark II yet.

but

Sometimes, cruelty is an excellent teacher.

Ehh, everyone can use a good (gaming) beatdown every now and then. Besides, thats the spirit of that system, beat them til they learn. ;)
